Description
Here's a rare bird. Comedian Joseph Plaut performs "Jonny spielt auf! (Parodie)," a parody on "Oh, Miss Hannah," accompanied by Arthur Briggs and an unidentified orchestra. In addition to playing and singing in English and German, there is dialogue between Briggs (in English) and Plaut (in German).
On the other side, Plaut and the orchestra perform "Jazz in Krimmitschau."
Briggs and the band play well, but this is primarily a comedy record.
Recorded in Berlin on April 14, 1928.
The "Jonny" side is in VV+ condition generally, with a few small scratches that sound lightly and a tiny edge chip that is nowhere near the grooves. The less interesting "Krimmitschau" side is in V condition generally, with many small scratches that produce a rustling sound of varying intensity, and a faint, 3/4-inch hairline crack at the rim that sounds faintly for a few revolutions.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
