A great copy of Santana' 1970 album, "Abraxas" released through Date (S-DAS 2084) records. This is a pretty rare copy of a classic album. It is on the US Date records label which although a subsidiary of CBS was nonetheless a label used for rock n' roll in its heyday and failed as a carriage for the late sixties 'hippy' bands. The Zombies were the only other significant name to be released on Date records and that was after they had broken up and at the time that Date was being closed and absorbed into CBS/Epic catelogues. Also, unusually, this Date label is black with silver lettering when the label had historically always used green and white. This makes this a very collectable album especially as it is in very good condition with just a handful of very light lines on each surface and nothing on the labels. The gatefold cover, (also quite unusual for this album) is in good condition with some feathering of the corners and the laminate coming away at the top left corner. the glue has dried out along part of the top edge. The dark female reclining figure in the cover art has also been printed much darker than usual thus covering her modesty. Althogether a rarity and worth hanging on to.
A fine addition to any collection.
*PLEASE NOTE: ALL ALBUMS ARE INSPECTED VISUALLY. AN AUDIO REVIEW IS NOT PRACTICAL DUE TO THE LARGE NUMBER OF RECORDS WE SELL. WE ARE HAPPY TO ACCEPT RETURNS IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE DESCRIPTION OFFERED.
