We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. The MINTY CLEAN original & rare 1971 British first pressing is housed in a thick highly textured gatefold cover, all black with striking silver embossed group logo lettering ... always the black cover is with ring shelf wear, it was not designed to last ... this copy the *best* we've ever come across - virtully no shelf wear and the vinyl is minty clean....

PALADIN were a melodic hard progressive crew who made two collectible albums ("Paladin" & "Charge!") and featured two keyboards (organ) + guitar with strong original tunes ... Included is the rare lyrics insert...

The group formed in 1970 by drummer Keith Webb and keyboard player Pete Soley. Having toured with the ROLLING STONES as backing musicians, they decided the time was right to unleash their own creativity. Ex "WORLD OF OZ" bassist Peter Beckett, GLASS MENAGERIE/GRISBY DYKE keyboard player Lou Stonebridge, and GRISBY DYKE guitarist Derek Floey were brought in to complete the line up. They list their early fans as including Jon ANDERSON (YES). After building a credible live reputation, the band signed for Gerry Bron's Bronze label, and recorded this first album "live" in the studio. The album consequently is now rare and very collectable in original vinyl format such as this copy.

With varied progressive elements & influences more evident in their debut, the primary source of their progressive sound was a complex nature with jazzy/prog structures via heavy Hammond organ work, like Colosseum, for example. But the influences are not only jazzy as they have as well, a mixture of african percussions with hard rock moves. In Brazil they are legendary because one regional band "stole" the cover of their second "Charge!" album - and as their albums are quite rare in Brazil, many people know them as "the UK progressive band that had their cover stolen".

The first song, Bad Times, starts with latin percussion and a bit of hard rock but then in the middle the song goes into completely complex time signatures with superb drumming and Hammond organ solo, plus some nice guitar, remembering the good times of Colosseum. Nice start is followed by a fine follow-up, Carry Me Home, a good ballad with fine keyboard work and good vocal harmonies. The instrumental section in the middle of the song is very good, with nice organ and guitar. Dance Of The Cobra is a well-crafted instrumental with jazzy/complex influences, nice guitar, piano, organ and percussion work, having some good variations and good soloing. There is a drum solo loosely inspired on samba that surprisingly works well, mainly because it is loosely based (generally experiments with samba with rock are disastrous). There are variations and the main theme returns only in the end. Third World is an African influenced track like Osibisa... Fill Up Your Heart is a fine hard rock song with nice heavy Hammond organ and good guitar solos, plus some interesting percussion. Flying High is more psychedelic pop/soul from the late sixties, with easy arrangements and absence of complex parts. The Fakir is the last song and incorporates a mid-eastern feel. And they manage to do so in a competent way. The song features fine percussion, keys, guitar and a nice violin arrangement to the song. The song is complex and the musicianship is fine.

CONDITION: The cover: is very thick with rough nubby textured material in black which would usually wear easily but this copy has been in good hands, rated as a rare M- with very little use ... having no bends, no writing and no split seams.... 

The vinyl: is all glossy clean M- looking and playing beautifully ...clean labels top it off.
