Description
RARE Mis-aligned apple sleeved, FIRST press Abbey Road, with NO Her Majesty credit on sleeve or centre label.
Welcome, this is a fantastic opportunity to own a superb example of one of the VERY FIRST pressings of Abbey Road by The Beatles.
This pressing is identifiable by:
· Fully laminated cover without flaps on the back side, with only the INITIAL ones having the green Apple logo out of alignment with the text and shifted to the left
· The first version of the cover has a green tint
· First label variations have “An E.M.I. Recording” text on two lines and small “33 1/3” text moved to the left side
· Publishing year printed with small copyright symbol (p)
· The label DOES NOT HAVE HER MAJESTY credit on the side two or on the sleeve.
· Matrix number: Side one: YEX 749-2; Side two: YEX 750-1

Released in September 1969, Abbey Road was The Beatles penultimate studio album release, although it was recorded after Let It Be.
Originally pencilled in to be called Everest, the group relations had become so strained at this point, that they decided the furthest they could possibly travel together was the zebra crossing outside the studio. Despite this, when in the studio they worked together in almost perfect harmony to create on of the most iconic albums ever made. The cover artwork has countless imitations amongst groups, and the crossing is now a mecca for fans.
In the UK, the album debuted at number one, where it remained for 11 weeks before being displaced for one week by the Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed. The following week, Abbey Road returned to the top for another six weeks (completing a total of 17 weeks). In all it spent 81 weeks on the UK albums chart. As well as completing 12 weeks at the top of The Billboards.
Condition (in line with Goldmine Magazine guidelines)
Vinyl- VERY GOOD PLUS. Record that show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. It has wispy marks from being removed from the sleeve to be played which do not affect the actual playback.
Label- NEAR MINT-. Shows little to no wear ring wear or discoloration with no real spindle marks to speak of. No writing!
Sleeve- VERY GOOD PLUS. Shows some slight wear, but the corners are in great condition and the spine is intact with all writing clearly visible. If not for a couple of minor scuffs, this would be NEAR MINT. No names written on the cover!!
