RARE UK LABEL NORTHERN SOUL
I'll be auctioning off a lot of UK label singles over the next year(s), taken from my own large collection. I've decided to concentrate on collecting US releases, and only keep a few UK label records. Among them are some very collectable 45s indeed, so make sure you don't miss any. I'll be working alphabetically, to make it simpler. However, eBay are doing one of their promotion offers, so I'll use a few rarities today.

Labels condition: Spotless
Many people will already have this one on the Jerhart label. A few may own a very scarce copy on Impression. Here we have the most collectable variation of all - a near mint UK issue on President.
Jimmy Robins (sometimes spelt Robbins), was a Chicago soul man who went for the hard, gritty approach. There was no mistaking the colour of his skin, because he belted out each note with pure black power. This would be a great performance even if it was a ballad. But "I Can't Please You" is set over a driving, uptempo beat that has seen many a dance floor filled to capacity.
The labels are unbelievably clean, with no writing, tears, stickers - just very light signs of play around the spindle hole.
The vinyl, again, is very neat and tidy. There are signs of play, but these are only to be seen as light "spiders web" marks in just a few places, mainly round the edge. But both sides play close to mint. It easily gets an 8 out of 10 grade - possibly higher.
Currently valued by Manship at £194, and rising.
