Description
This is an original 1989 No Doubt Demo tape, released in both 3 song and 5 song versions. This is the 5 song version. These were given out and sold st local shows and record shops in Orange County. Very few items from No Doubts early days have survived, and its hard to even imagine an item like this from a band that has grown to one of the biggest of all time. This tape goes back to right after original lead singer John Spence commited suicide. The song on this tape, titled Dear John is a tribute to him. This is also the tape that Adrian Young practiced too before his audition to play drums with the band, these are perhaps the only No Doubt recoridngs you wiull find without Adrian on drums. The tape is in great condition. The liner card is in great shape with no creases or bends. The liner card features cartoon work by Eric Stefani, with drawings of gwen, john spence, the first use of the famous No Doubt logo, and other band members. The tape isoriginal, as the band members personaly hand wrote and labled the tapes. I located another collector a few years ago that had another one of these rare demos, and his had the tape labled in the exact same manner. The tape plays well, and all songs sound good and strong. I have only played this tape a few times to preserve the audio. This is a very rare item that any serious No Doubt fan would concider the centerpiece to their collection. This is a once in a blue moon chance to own this rare tape. Please feel free to ask any questions.
