Thank you for viewing my auction of a very rare "Second State" Beatles "Butcher Baby" album. I acquired this album in the late sixties as part of my Beatles collection. I am one of the individuals responsible for promoting the "Paul is Dead" rumor. Look at any article written from that period and I am the "college student" who "wrote a thesis" on the rumor. I still have my original albums that my friends and I used to track clues to proving Paul McCartney died in a car crash and was replaced by the look-alike Billy Shears. Check out the definitive book "Turn Me On Dead Man" by Andru Reeve and you will find me. But that's another story.
The album here is in pretty good shape, all things considered. I did attempt to peel it... back when, and realized it wouldn't be clean. But I confirmed it was a butcher cover and left it "as is". Good thing. Second state unpeeled versions are worth more than the peeled ones. This cover still has nice gloss on it. There are no owner's names written on it, or any other distractions (unless you want me to sign it). I recommend "no" but I'd be happy to offer an affidavit. The spine has opened and I've included a photo to show it. All the parts are there. The liner cover is very nice. The record itself is clean with no major scratches. I have it framed in an album display frame with a small image of the butcher photo which is not attached to the album. It's been stored in a box until recently. This is the real deal.
