RARE PEANUTS HUCKO V-DISC RECORDING SESSION DISC . 5 SONGS ON THIS 16 INCH, BLACK LACQUER ACETATE 33 1/3 RPM DISC. THIS DISC WAS RECORDED FOR REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. VERY RARE!
5 Songs by Peanuts Hucko & His Orchestra recorded for V-Disc May 14, 1947. The label is difficult to read, however I can make out "Source: Live For ___ Special Serv., New York City,NY". Other information that is difficult to read on the label is some personnel, I could make out Jack Lesberg: bass and ____ Stein: piano (possibly Lou Stein) and Dave ____ drums
Songs include "Stolen Peanuts", "Stealin Apples", "You Took Advantage Of Me" vocal Liza Morrow, "O Death Where Is Thy Sting" vocal Liza Morrow, "O Death Where Is Thy Sting" vocal Liza Morrow (2nd take). There is a short bad start of an unidentified song after "You Took Advantage Of Me"
Liza Morrow would later perform under the name Kit Carson. The song "O Death Where Is Thy Sting" is identified on the sleeve as "If What You Say Is The Positive Truth"
There is one song by Benny Goodman & His Orchestra "Airmail Special". The recording begins while the song is in progress and I am not sure of the purpose of the recording, so it may not be for V-Disc
