Description
This is an EXTREMELY rare UK 1st vinyl pressing of the 1969 Quintessence LP - In Blissful Company
The very first release by this Psych / Prog band
On PINK Island label ref ILPS9110Q - Stereo Matrices are A1//B2 - FIRST Pressing
The Record:
This is a solid EX, beautiful dark pink earlier Island labels, free from writing or marks though there is a little spindle wear when turned to the light. A few light surface marks but this is in great shape retaining its sheen, a beautiful copy..on the photo of the record the line is a reflection of my lamp stand btw not a mark
Inner Sleeve(s) The record is in a poly lined white sleeve but the inner picture sleeve is also present. This does have a slight tear to the opening side and a little light wear to the edges, no other splits to the edges though
Outer Gatefold Sleeve:
This is again a solid EX Printed and made by E.J.Day London - matt finish, very cool psychedelic back, no ringwear, only minimal very light creasing when turned to the light. The inner gatefold has a built in booklet which is very very cool - not all pages photographed as went over the limit. Centre page is partially unattached (the top part) but the later pages have different geometric shapes cut away - very cool, very 1960s
A little shelf wear to the bottom and top spines, side spines have a few scuffs, see pictures but in really decent shape
Additional: On the rear of the inner gatefold the previous owner has stuck on a concert ticket - I think this is extremely cool.... Details a gig on 5th February 1970 at Sophia Gardens Pavillion Cardiff....the bill that night was as follows:
Pink Floyd Quintessence Daddylonglegs Garry Farr Heaven Tea and Sympathy Ron Geesin .......and then waaay down at the bottom a lesser known band called Black Sabbath!!!!!! ticket #482 The previous owner saw the band and went out the next day to buy this record...COOOOOL!!!! - would have loved to have been at that one ;)
PLEASE NOTE - Postage is based on UK Recorded Delivery PLEASE ASK for overseas postage before bidding as there are some countries I will not post to
I use the Record Collector Grading Criteria which is as follows: Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be Mint. Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing. Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
