RARE Pink Floyd THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY 2LP with UFOs

Reserve is set at only $50  to make this FUN!!!   I have seen this album sell for as much as $300 (and it was in nowhere near the excellent condition this one is).

This is the FABULOUS and RARE Pink Floyd live concert album recorded at Earl's Court in London in 1973.  The cover spline reads INTERNATIONAL RECORDS   ALL RIGHTS RESERVED    THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY   PINK FLOYD    07994.    There were 2 different sets of LP pressings that were sold in this same cover (I know because I own two copies of them both).  This is the rarer version of the two.  As you can see in the pictures, the LP center labels say UFO Records and have a picture of a flying saucer on them and LP#1 has different colored labels from LP#2.  LP#1 is labeled Side 1 and Side 2 and LP#2 is also labeled Side 1 and Side 2.  The center labels all have the quote "Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.  As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.  Be yourself.  You are a child of the Universe no less than the trees and the stars.  You have a right to be here."

(For those that just need to know, the other version has silver labels with shaking robot fists and clouds on them and are labeled Side 1 through Side 4...the cover and its external markings are exactly the same so there's no way to know which version you are getting till you open up the album...so how did I get 2 copies of each version?...trial and error.  Sonically both versions are absolutely identical in every respect.  If anything, the grooves on the other version with the robot fists tend to be out of round, while this version is very well centered).

The song list is as follows:  LP#1 Side 1: Obscured By Clouds, When You're In, and Careful With That Axe.  LP#1 Side 2: Echoes.  LP#2 Side 1: One Of These Days.  LP#2 Side 2: Dark Side Of The Moon.  The sound is rather laid back and you have to crank it up if you really want to get it cooking, but what FANTASTIC versions of these Floyd favorites.  It's so cool to hear the crowd respond when PF starts to play a tune the audience recognizes...and this was in 1973 before any of their work had reached star status.

The vinyl is in nearly perfect condition...I would rate it at least near mint; I bought this new and opened it and have played it 14 times (on each of the four sides, and yes I keep a play list).  The cover is nearly perfect except for some crinkling around the edges and some extremely light ring wear on the lower portion of the back cover.  The cover has taken the impression of the record shape, so you can see the outline of the round records.  This album plays perfectly on my high end turntable and cartridge setup...you will not find a cleaner, better cared-for copy out there.  Check my feedback (100% positive on over 675 buy/sell transactions) and ask my buyers about the condition of the albums they've purchased from me.  I am obsessive about their cleanliness and handling and storage.  The level of care my LPs receive is superb.  You, the winner, will receive this 2LP set professionally cleaned and treated with GruvGlide, inside a vinyl protective sleeve.

PLEASE NOTE:  I accept only PayPal.  REPEAT:  I ACCEPT ONLY PayPal.  I will ship worldwide and postage will be for only the exact amount...no additional charges for packing materials and no additional handling fees.  Overseas buyers, please contact me with your desired method of shipment if you want a direct price quotation.

VERY COOL NOTE: See PayPal's financing option at the top right!!!   You CAN afford to bid this way UP and pay for it through PayPal over time in installment payments.  YES!!!

I've protected this 2LP set to keep it pristine for you and now my work here is done...it's time for me to leave these LPs to a new generation of listeners who want to explore our rock heritage and savor some of the richness that only vinyl LPs can offer when played on proper gear.  Enjoy!

Because I care about the condition this LP arrives to the winner in, it will be packaged to withstand all manners of weapons of mass destruction and tsunamis.  Shine on my crazy diamond brothers and sisters!

Please watch my listings.  Over the next several weeks I will be selling dozens of my rare and precious albums I've collected and cared for since 1970.  When I bought albums I always got 2 copies, a new one to play and a new one to save back.  I will be selling some of each kind.  If there are any specific live Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin or Jimi Hendrix albums you are interested in or maybe have heard of but couldn't find, or maybe just want to know if some of these urban legends even exist, please contact me and I will try to get those listed next.  It has been more than 7 years since I've seen anything listed anywhere that's not in my collection for these 3 groups (and a fair number of others). Peace, love, thank you!  Sky
