Linear Downfall, Spaceface, Stardeath And White Dwarfs , & New Fumes with The Flaming Lips – Playing Hide And Seek With The Ghosts Of Dawn
Performed by the bands listed above, including The Flaming Lips (they perform on "Epitaph"), and limited to 500 copies, this is a rare, interesting, and well executed cover of King Crimson’s “In the Court of the Crimson King.” You can find a great review by Consequence of Sound online (eBay blocks the link).
I purchased this new on RSD on Black Friday 2012. I’ve played it approximately 10 times, and it has been given an ultrasonic clean in a Degritter in preparation for this sale. The vinyl ships in a Disc Keeper polyvinyl inner sleeve.
Media condition is difficult to verify because the disc is transparent, but I think, physically, it’s VG+. Photos show both sides of the record.
Please note that, as with the original KC album, the production of this record is fuzzed-out and psychedelic, and this copy plays with some surface noise.
The original packaging for this album was not typical. It came in a relatively thick plastic “envelope” type sleeve, with the record inserted into the fold of a colorful card stock insert. Please see photos for what this looks like.
The original packaging was very snug, and removing the album was a delicate operation. The net result is that the cardboard sleeve is in good condition, with some wear on the crease (see photos) and the card stock itself shows minor wear. All-in-all, however, I think it looks good.
I now store this set in three separate pieces: (1) as noted, the vinyl is in a polyvinyl sleeve, and (2) the card stock is in its own, separate polyvinyl sleeve, and (3) the plastic outer sleeve is on its own (empty).
My recommendation is that you keep this separation, or at least keep the record and card stock out of the plastic “envelope,” but that’s up to you. When shipped, all of these will be protected by firm corrugated cardboard and bubble wrap.
