RARE FIRST PRESSING LP
Robert Johnson King of the Delta Blues Singers Columbia CL 1654 "Six-Eye" True First Pressing (No "CBS" on label)
Per Discogs:
- Issued on red "six-eye" Columbia labels without "CBS" at top.
- True first press, as CBS was added to label in 1961. This press was a short run before the changeover.
- "BH" etched in runouts denotes Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Hollywood, pressing, with Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Bridgeport, origination.
- Back liner variation, with "5" fabrication code at bottom right.
Record: EX
Being very strict here. The record is nearly pristine (a few light surface paper scuffs under bright light) otherwise the record is clean and super glossy. Any shop would call this "Near Mint" all day.
See video: The playback is very clear – faint noise appears to be artifacts from the original recording (it disappears when the tracks end).
Cover is VG+
Overall very nice. Clean spine. Some minimal flaws visible in the images. Includes original inner sleeve.
Truly a collector copy of a MEGA hard to find first pressing.
