About Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL or MoFi) is a company known as an innovator in the production of audiophile-quality sound recordings. All releases are produced from the first-generation analog master recordings. Each title is licensed from the original record company as a limited edition item. It is manufactured and sold only within a specific period of time.

About Half-Speed LP Mastering

MFSL uses the original master tape as its source. This tape was then played back at half its original speed. Simultaneously the record cutting lathe runs at half of its regular speed.

The Half-Speed Mastering technology allows for cleaner reproduction of high frequencies and allows twice as much time to carve a groove that accurately represents the sound on the master tape. It also permits extended high frequency response, extending into the ultrasonic region.

Upon its release in 1976, songs from Boston's first album immediately became FM radio favorites. The first six out of eight songs from this LP are still being played today on classic rock radios. Reached number 5 on the chart and sold over 17 million copies in the U.S. , this is absolutely one of the finest hard rock albums of the 70's.

NM = 1) Sealed record (assumed). 2) No visible flaws and play well with a few light ticks.

EX = No visible flaws but have a few clicks or pops.

VG+ = Some visible flaws such as scuffs and short light scratches. Have instances of ticks,clicks and pops.

COVER

NM = No wear. Clean sleeves and inserts.

EX = Minor wear.

VG+ = Minor wear and tears.

Play Grade

NM = Very low surface noise, occasional ticks, no pops noise

EX = Low surface noise, occasional ticks & clicks, some pops noise

VG+ = Some surface noise, ticks, clicks, pops, but still listenable
