MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR RARE SOUL/FUNK/JAZZ/PSYCH/FOLK/OST/BREAKS/ LPS AND 45’S

ALL RECORDS ARE ORIGINAL PRESSINGS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED!!

Title: Reggie Andrews & Locke Saints Band - Opus One LP

Label: Saint City Records, 1977-1978

Notes: You are bidding on of the rarest and most impressive high school band recordings ever. This set was pressed in very small numbers on the Saint City label and orchestrated by the great Reggie Andrews out of Watts, CA (in later years, Reggie Andrews went on to mentor some classic hip hops acts of out California such as The Pharcyde). This double LP is a mix of incredibly melodic soul, heavy funk and free jazz. Much harder to come by than his Fremont High and Missigni Workshop lps and in my opinion, much heavier and more diverse. Have a listen to sound clips of "Love Changes", Everlasting Love", "Bachfillen", and "Bustin' Loose". This is a gem for any serious collectors crates; bid now as this will not be up for auction any time soon! I hate to let this one go, but bills must be paid....I have set a very reasonable reserve due to the quality and rarity. The records are in great shape, grading is conservative. Thanks for looking, happy bidding!

FOR THIS AUCTION I MUST INSIST THAT BIDDERS WITH UNDER 10 POSITIVE FEEDBACK CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING OR ELSE I WILL BE FORCED TO CANCEL THE BIDS! SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY, PLEASE.

CONDITION

Cover: Strong VG+ (Light corner dings on top right and lower left corners next to the spine. Light seam wear on top seam. Light wear on bottom right corner next to gate fold opening. Labels are in excellent condition. NO ring wear, No spine wear, No other defects! Check photos, very nicely preserved copy)

Vinyl: VG/VG+ (Both records retain a beautiful shiny gloss. Paper scuffs and light marks are visible underneath 75 watt bulb (most likely from taking the records in and out of the sleeves). No scratches or other imperfections to mention. Plays loud and very clearly! Even in quiet passages, only the slightest of background noise can be heard. I believe this is due to the low budget pressing, not anything to due with the condition of the record. Have a listen to the multiple sound clips I have uploaded to judge for yourself.)
