Description
Up for auction is a highly sought-after, early stereo pressing of The Japanese Koto by virtuoso Shinichi Yuize. This is the Gold Label "Vector-Stereo" version, pressed by Cook Laboratories using their legendary "Microfusion" process. Condition Details:
- Vinyl (EX/NM): The record is in truly exceptional condition. It retains a brilliant high-gloss finish.
- Matrix Numbers: Side A: 1132SD-A / Side B: 1132SD-B.
- Jacket (VG): The original jacket shows some minor shelf wear and a noticeable red stain on the front (please see photos). Despite the stain, the structural integrity of the sleeve is good with no major seam splits.
- Labels: Pristine gold-on-gold labels with no spindle marks or wear.
Cook Laboratories, founded by audio pioneer Emory Cook, was a boutique label known for extreme high-fidelity recordings in the 1950s. The 1132SD is the rare single-groove stereo version of their 1132 mono release. Finding the gold-label audiophile pressing in this kind of unplayed-looking condition is very difficult for collectors.
