Description

Here's a great copy of one of the rarest Beach Boys picture sleeves of all: "Heroes and Villains" (Capitol 5826). Released in Denmark in 1967. This sleeve, which was printed in the U.S.A. (it says so on the sleeve), was meant for an unreleased record (most likely "Heroes and Villains, pt. 1" b/w "Heroes and Villains, pt. 2"--the ambitious follow-up to “Good Vibrations” and the first single from the then forthcoming LP "SMiLE"). When the Beach Boys decided to release "Heroes and Villains" on their own label, Brother Records (as Brother 1001) with a new sleeve featuring different artwork, Capitol kept the old sleeve and used it in foreign markets. The old sleeve features photos from the original 12-page booklet meant for "SMiLE."

This sleeve is in EX to EX+ condition. Hardly any ring wear and no seam splits. No writing, stickers, or tears. Just very minor wrinkling along the top. Plus, this sleeve comes with the 45 ("Heroes and Villains" b/w “You’re Welcome”), which is in NM condition. Labels are great, and the vinyl has very high gloss. A great addition to Beach Boys collections, and a must for "SMiLE" fanatics!
