RARE and LONG OUT OF PRINT! THE MODERN LOVERS (Featuring Jonathan Richman)
Original 1976 1st pressing on the cult-favored Beserkley Records/Home of there Hits label.
Absolutely gorgeous condition in every detail. Only a clean and neat manufacturer’s angle cut in the upper right corner point.
This album ranks right up there with the very best of the seminal proto-punk records of the late 1960s and early 1970s—genuinely artsy and primitive enough for the greatest music critics to hail Jonathan Richman as the next Lou Reed.
Not so coincidentally, this album was produced by John Cale of the Velvet Underground—the granddaddy of pioneering punk band producers, having also produced the debut albums of Patti Smith and the Stooges, among others.
Every song is a gem, but the all-time often covered legitimate classic is “Road Runner.”
This LP is a timeless example of solid songwriting and minimalistic musicianship, also touting the talents of future Talking Heads guitarist Jerry Harrison and future Cars drummer David Robinson.
MINT- Cover!!! Only the aforementioned small manufacturer's corner cut.
MINT- Vinyl!!! And remember: When you buy from me, you are buying the VERY best!
