Well, we all know how rare these pressings are.

167g

This Mono version of Please Please Me was the very limited pressing transition from the Black and Gold labels, over to the now more common Parlophone yellow logo. However, in the cross-over, the THIRD pressings of this album did not carry the "RECORDING 1st PUBLISHED" text above the matrix number on the label, at the 9 O'clock position.
There were also around 5000 printed with the mistaken extra 33 1/3.
This error was quickly spotted and pressings with this extra 331/3 we quickly halted and subsequently changed the label format to the 4th pressing...only a very few survived, both with and without the 33 1/3....And here's one!

Vinyl:
This is a slab of vinyl for the true collector-a filler....I say this due to a pronounced edge warp, which make the playing of the 1st track on both sides, impossible without jumps.
There are other marks to her, but when playing her past the warped section, the audio was surprisingly rich and clear. Saying that-she really is for framing, rather than playing.
**So, please be aware of this BEFORE bidding**

Cover: G. It is THE ORIGINAL 1st BLACK & GOLD cover and not swapped out. It has the Angus McBean credit in the very bottom right corner as well as the larger MONO to the top right. The down side to the cover has wear to her..
BUT WOULD FRAME WELL.
The bottom left corner has a spidering line to the laminate and the flipbacks have some damage and have come away at the bottom and top, on the back-as can be seen in the images provided.
There is a split of 15cm to the top left corner.
BUT it is a very 1st PRINTING and remains solid.

Labels: The all important and increasingly rare 3rd pressing labels are in a very good, displayable condition.
After looking at the central hole, I can see spindle wear, with some hole wear as can be seen in the images provided.
The added dimension of rareity is the "ZT" tax code!
This was only used from April 1962-November 1962!...Which is very unusual as this was produced in 1963..!


Inner: VG-. It is the ORIGINAL "USE EMITEX" inner, with the tracing paper-linke lining.
Does carry some age discolouration and a couple of splits.
AGAIN-WOULD FRAME WELL.
