Description
Rare The Beatles "Hey Jude" / "Revolution" hip pocket disc. Apple Records (made by Americom). Apple 2276P / M221.
This 4-inch Flexi disc was available from vending machines for a very short time in late 1968.
The quality of these were notoriously underwhelming, leading to the end of the format. Keep that in mind when bidding. It's more of the novelty of having one of these rare pocket discs (than hoping for killer sound quality).
A-side: Some old sticker residue on the label area. Plenty of wisps throughout.
B-side: Plenty of wisps throughout.
Disc lays mostly flat. One small area is raised. This is noticed when it spins on the turntable. I mean, these things were transported in the pockets of teenagers!
As is very typical of Flexi discs, plays through well when weighted down (e.g., placing a nickel on the label). Otherwise, it is way too light to spin properly. No surprise these discs were quickly phased out.
