Description
The Elegants (of Tacoma WA 1962-65) recorded Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Go / Ooh Poo Pah Doo at Kearney Barton's Seattle Studio in 1964 ( Delta number is early 1965). They were pressed in California with another Band on the labels and sent to Roger Freheit. When the error was discovered they sent replacement labels which were also the wrong color and listed the band name on the A side only. Roger was so mad he left the records in the boxes for nearly 50 years. This Unreleased Mis-Labeled NW R&B 45 features great blazing Guitar Solos from Jerry Miller (his 1st recordings) and Roger Freiheit. Vocals by Willie Washington and Stick Willie, Russell Adams on Hammond B-3, Joe Brazil on Sax, Larry Lewis on Trumpet and Rick Burton on Bass. The unplayed Record is labeled as The Malamutes "The Cremation Of Sam McGhee" /"The Spell Of The Yukon". It will come with the replacement labels, the one of a kind signed letter from Kearney Barton to the Bert Co Label Co dated October 14, 1967 stating that The Elegants still owed him money from the 1964 recording and won't pay him until they get all parts returned. It was stamped Received Oct 16 and was paper clipped to an invoice which says Cuts Returned and uncut copies of the labels. Papers all have creasing, folds, age wear and paper clip rust.
