NOTES: Out of Los Angeles, this obscure recording from December 1966 is the flip to the stunning 'Wall of Sound' production, 'My Son'. Recorded by a garage band of teens from Oceanside, California, lead vocalist and composer of both sides, Craig Carll was barely seventeen years old and delivers an astonishing Blue-Eyed Soul vocal performance very much in the style and sound of Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals. While the band composed, performed and stayed within the garage rock & roll style on their handful of recordings issued on Era, GNP Crescendo & Feather, this single really stands out. Unfortunately, upon release of the record, it was getting play on the east coast but was quickly pulled from the rotation after a former arranger who worked with the group falsely claimed to have co-written 'My Son'. A magnificent, soulful double-sider that really should have had a better fate than languishing in obscurity.

The Lyrics
So Glad / My Son
GNP Crescendo 381 (1966)

Condition - all records are play tested. Label shows a stamp mark, staining, and ring wear, on one side.
Plays flat on the turntable.
So Glad (2:59)
PLEASE NOTE: Vinyl has great sheen - BUT there is a large superficial scratch (not deep and you can't hear on the record). There is a smaller scratch (again you can't hear it) toward the runoff. This side has the label issues (stamp and staining)

My Son ( 2:50)
NOTE: Vinyl has great sheen. Plays through beautifully. Clean label, but shows some ring wear.
