Description
As I understand it this is a very rare LP. I looked it up on the web and saw all kinds of crazy asking prices and generally favorable reviews of the music. I would agree with the latter as I played it through last night and enjoyed every song. It definitely fits the circa 1967 period and is reminiscent of the Doors, Airplane, Buffalo Springfield etc. all the way through, even some background vocals that had a Mamas and Papas vibe. The musicianship is very good throughout, and then as now it seems a crap shoot as to who becomes famous and who does not. The sound is bright and clear, and plays better than you would think by looking at the scratches on the record. It really looks thrashed, but plays with what seemed to me to be only moderate ticks and pops. It skipped once on each side, thankfully forward rather than backward, in the inner grooves as I recall. The cover is in poor condition as well; the spine is torn completely on top, about halfway across on the bottom, and there is considerable wear and discolorations of the surfaces- please see the pictures. So what we have would be a 25c thrift shop record if not for its rarity. I hope that it finds its way to a Them collector who can enjoy it until a better condition copy comes along.
