JIMMY CAMPBELL LP HALF BAKED (Vertigo Records VEL-1000)

Rare White Label Promo. Original US stereo pressing with gatefold cover. Vertigo built quite a reputation for their offerings of obscure, adventurous underground rock artists. The Folk-Pop-Psychedelic sounds of this Jimmy Campbell album from 1971 fit in nicely with Vertigo's trailblazing direction. This audition copy will have richer sound than even an original stock copy because promo copies were drawn from the freshest run off the stampers at the manufacturing stage. Inventive gatefold cover with lyrics printed on inside. Produced by Don Paul. "In My Room" (cut number four) lacks a Brian Wilson influence in its lyrics: "In my room/ With it's broken door/The posters on the wall/ Of Hitler, John & Paul."

COVER - NEAR MINT

Cover has no marks, seam splits, stains, ink spills, smudges, writing, bubbles, price tags or stickers. Small eigth-inch hole in bottom corner denotes this as a promo copy. Spine print looks great & is fully readable. No rubbing. Virtually no ring wear & a small amount of corner banging. Sharp print & nice color. Stylish Vertigo label is nearly perfect. Beautiful unfaded color tone. No marks, cuts, tears, writing or stickers. Sharp cut hole free with a few faint spindle brushings.
