ULTRA RARE, UNRELEASED & QUITE POSSIBLY TOTALLY UNIQUE

- Genuine EMI Acetate  -  'IBC'  studios  -  Nems Productions - 1967 ?

          THE CREAM

      "LOOK HERE PRINCESS"

We are complete vinyl nuts and think that all records (inc. acetates) are made to be played !!!

We prefer 45's & LP's that we can reasonably DJ without giving everyone a heart attack  !!!

Although in the past we have, and sometimes still do,   spin out   acetates...
this is certainly a real top end super rare item, and because we are sorely
tempted to give it a whirl out there on the dance floor, for safety's sake,
we think that this acetate realistically deserves to be in the hands of a
serious Cream /Eric Clapton collector for permanent safe keeping ; )

This acetate is in truly beautiful condition. . . It is nice and flat,
full gloss, with no hairlines or scratches to the playing surface.

The playing surface shows only the very slightest traces of light sleeve
buffing to the top laquer from long storage in it's papaer sleeve... All of
these tiny buff marks disappear on rotation if viewed under strong light.

This acetate has only been played once by us to record the sound !!!

It has NOT been cleaned up by us in any way at all !!!

The initial crackle is only audible here because we have played it from the
very   farthest   outer   run-in   ...so as to ensure that the whole track is
recorded, and that no extra words or music are accidentally missed.

Although this acetate obviously must have been played in the studio by both the band and
the engineers themselves, and as is likely, a few more times since over the last 40 or so years...
somewhat amazingly ...there really is no audible or visual evidence of any real previous use.

There is NO sound deterioration or distortion... and bearing in mind
as stated that we have NOT cleaned this in any way ...we think that
this amazing acetate sounds just as crisp as the day it was made !!!

Please see our straight-up pictures taken under strong lamp light.

No flash, photo enhancements or other photo tricks have been used.

Have a good listen below and enjoy ...Don't forget to turn it up !!!

One of the other interesting things that we think is really amazing about this particular track
is that musically it is played so very tight & very very fast,   that at least one word in the lyrics
has obviously been missed out. . . Drummer Ginger Baker must have really been laughing his
head off here in forcing the guys work so hard by keeping his beat up to such a speed ( ha ha ; )

Both the bass guitar work and storming lead guitar /whammy bar action here is truly astonishing,
& on hearing this power house of a band in action here... it really isn't any wonder they were called

'The Cream'

*

No matrix numbers or other identification marks are visible in the run out of this acetate .

The label is as seen in the pictures.

ABOUT US

The name 'snogdogs' does not refer to bizarre behaviour, or niche sporting activities   (...it is simply the name of one of our 5 cats  ; )

    <~~~~~~~~~~~~<<<< @ >>>>~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

...And when it comes to accurate assesment of both condition and sound quality   ~  We don't mess about   ; )

We have been ebay members for a very long time, and have very many satisfied and regular customers.

We have been both collecting and DJ-ing vinyl for well over 30 years and have a lot of experience in
collecting and grading all sorts of records for our own listening pleasure ...and also to DJ as well.

We have very many 10's of 1000's of LP's, E.P's, 45's & 78 rpm's covering all genres...

From time to time we offer various selections of records for auction upon ebay
so as to help downsize both our extensive DJ, and personal archive collections....

These ebay 'disposals' also help make our collections far more
managable by releasing items we no longer use or listen to...

This ongoing process also helps free up extra storage space
for new aquisitions - as we are still collecting and DJ-ing  ; )

We have auctioned a lot of records (inc. test pressings & acetates) on Ebay.

Notable rare examples include :-

Davie Jones & the King Bees  'Liza Jane'   (UK Vocalion)  / Tom Robinson's 1975 GLF E.P. /
prog rock & psych ~ Vikings Invasion / May Blitz / July / etc  ..also many other rare records
inc. private pressings, reggae, folk, spoken word, classical, ambient, and jazz recordings.

If you are a DJ, a serious collector of rare records, or a music lover who enjoys spinning vinyl
and has taken a fancy to something or other that we have up here for auction here on Ebay...

We always want you to enjoy the very best in sound reproduction and offer honest descriptions.

This is because snogsdogs takes both 'customer service' and satisfaction very seriously...

So whether the items here are listed as "guaranteed mint unplayed" ( or otherwise graded), we will always clean ALL
of our records  [except acetates]  using our  LORICRAFT PRC 4  MK II  professional cleaning machine using specialist
'L'Art du Son' and the very best lab. quality de-mineralised UV treated water available... in order to remove all traces
of dust and other micro-particles, that may adversely affect sound reproduction & audio enjoyment of your record.

We consider the  LORICRAFT PRC 4  MK II  to be an excellent machine, especially for 45's, and these machines
are also widely used and regarded by very many collectors and archivists worldwide as being the
world's finest 'BBC quality' professional / audiophile record cleaning machines...

For further info. on Loricraft machines and how they operate, simply search in your browsers
for '   Loricraft Audio PRC3/4/5/6 Professional Record Cleaners '   or go to   garrard501.com

<~~~~~~~~~~~~<<<< @ >>>>~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

All 45's & LP's are carefully packed & sent out in quality mailers with  protective corrugated card spacers,
...brittle 78 rpm's are carefully sandwiched in-between polystyrene & corrugated card spacers etc...

WE OFFER LOW START ON ALL 45's & LP's  &  NO HIDDEN RESERVE

<~~~~~~~~~~~~<<<< @ >>>>~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

BID WITH CONFIDENCE ~ WE DO NOT END AUCTIONS EARLY

<~~~~~~~~~~~~<<<< @ >>>>~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

Unless listed as guaranteed MINT unplayed - we generally test all records for sound quality before being
offered for sale via  BBC studio reference quality Rodgers Studio 1A monitors and a variety of decks.

Decks  used include - Project / Thorens fitted with Shure eliptical 'supertrack' needles tracking at 0.75 to 1 gramme,
or sometimes a similar set up with Technics 1210's & eliptical needles ...we also use various types of amps.

<~~~~~~~~~~~~<<<< @ >>>>~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

We do not 'skim'... nor do we use other nasty horrible noxious chemicals or 'patent' polishes to clean-up our records...

<~~~~~~~~~~~~<<<< @ >>>>~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

As collectors ourselves... We truly care about all of our customers and try to grade all of our records conservatively.

<~~~~~~~~~~~~<<<< @ >>>>~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

We have no interest in inflating the stated quality of either the vinyl or audio reproduction
just in order to 'make a sale' ...and want all of our customers to enjoy top-quality records !!!

On 12-Feb-12 at 20:17:33 GMT, seller added the following information:

some extra info :

I'm certainly not a "Cream" expert but with a help of a friend who is  aserious Cream fan  - We have now pieced the following information together.

This acetate may have been recorded on 15th March  '67 - for the 2nd album - Disraeli gears  - at Ryemuse Studios in London as one of a batch of differing demos for album Disraeli Gears - The then flew out to NY and recorded the LP in May but this track didn't make that LP.

Maybe in July August 1967 this track was transfered from the master tape and put onto an acetate at IBC studios to see if they wanted to use it for Wheels on Fire as they had already decided not to use it for Disreali Gears ?

And ... although I did not know this at the time of listing (as I pay no attention whatsoever to CD's )- The acetate  "Look Here Princess" was re-issued on a double CD in 2004 as "Hey Now Princess" on 'Disraeli Gears Deluxe Edition' (on that CD it  is listed it as 'Hey Now Princess' ) and as one of the 5 demos recorded on 15th March 1967 at Ryemuse - this was the first official release of this track as it was was not released before.

It was written by Jack Bruce and his associate Pete Brown who was a English performance poet and lyricist best known for his collaborations with Jack Bruce [this info I am told is apparently from 'The Virgin Encyclopaedia of 60's Music' ? - book printed 1997].

(...and here follows a piece of useless information that may be of slight interest to Cream fans regarding the LP 'Disraeli Gears'

In the very late 70's, I knew some musicians who lived in Disraeli Road in Putney, London  - There used to be a Sunbeam Motorcycles shop in the Road as well.  - I was told that The Cream, sometimes lived or stayed in Disraeli Road  the 60's, and that the name Disraeli Gears was thought up for the LP by the band because they used to be allowed to ride some of these motorbikes up and down Disraeli Road.  Hence the name 'Disraeli Gears' was thought up... maybe it's true... ? )
