Offering a rare and BELIEVED TO BE ONE OF A KIND HARRY EDISON QUARTET "SWEETS AT THE HAIG" 45 RECORD #EPV 1031, MADE IN ENGLAND BY VOGUE PRODUCTIONS. This appears to be a very rare 45 as I find a few others made but, no other made by Vogue. The sleeve has wonderful art and is in tact with a few minor issues due to age (see pictures). This record plays well to be it's age with no skips and is a 7" Extended Play 45. The songs include: Pennies from Heaven and These Foolish Things. On back of sleeve there is a nice long write-up by Author and book writer Raymond Horricks that gives great information on Harry Edison - better known to jazz musicians as "Sweets". Part of it states: "The two long solos on this EP - "Pennies From Heaven" and "These Foolish Things" - were recorded in July, 1953 during one of the Trumpeter's sets at The Haig, a small music club in Hollywood. He was accompanied by pianist Arnold Ross, a most attacking white stylist whom he'd originally used for recording sessions as long ago as 1945, ex-King Cole bassist, Joe Comfort and drummer Alvin Stoller, recently to achieve recognition with the small combo of clarinettist Abe Most. This is a great find for rare record collectors.
