VERY RARE! Seldom if ever seen in this type of superb condition! Original first edition Stereo pressing of The Velvet Underground "WHITE LIGHT/WHITE HEAT" LP with pictorial Verve Records LP catalog inner sleeve and the blue Verve label!!! The band wrote the book on stripped-down economical musicianship efficiency--with Lou Reed, John Cale, Maureen Tucker, Sterling Morrison. This cover features the infamous skull tattoo arm to the left of the cover that can be seen at an angle (or even more clearly under black light!!!). Still in shrink wrap (though not sealed). To many, this second album by the band exceeds the archetypal first album in terms of urban ferocity. The songs, in my own view, are even stronger--further proving this band as the grandfather of punk rock and rock as an underworld art form. On the blue Verve label (V6-5046). This raw and rudimentary music is just as strong today as is was in 1967. Lou Reed archetypal songwriting craftsmanship is alarmingly authentic and as dark as a New York sewer tunnel.
