RARE ~ TEST PRESSINGS???
From two iconic early 60's surf bands from Central California (San Luis Obispo area)
THE REVELS & THE SENTINALS
VINTAGE YELLOW VINYL 45's
The Sentinals disc has the same song (the balad, I've Been Blue) on both sides!
Here's a pair of hard to find YELLOW vinyl 45's from two classic 60's Central California (San Luis Obispo) surf bands. These are (I'm guessing) test pressings from "The REVELS with Sam Eddy" and "THE SENTINALS."
The Revels disc includes "It's Party Time" and "Soft Top" and The Sentinals has the balad "I've Been Blue" on BOTH sides of the record! This is what leads me to believe these were test pressings... probably testing the colored vinyl, which has a couple of red streaks in them - (visible in the photo) I also have a couple of RED vinyl 45's as well.
I have had these for about thirty-five years and they've been in a closed 45 case the whole time. I may have played them a time or two (about thirty-five years ago!)
General wear from storage and jostling during several moves since I was a teenager, but overall they're in good condition.
My older brother actually got these from the Knowles family in the late sixties or early seventies (the Knowles kids were childhood friends and their father, Norman Knowles, was The Revels saxophone player and is credited on the label as producer for both records.) I will carefully ship in sturdy packaging with each record in a plain white 45 sleeve.
