full title "miles ahead--miles davis +19" with the hastily withdrawn 'white woman' cover!! his 1st columbia LP with record in solid NM condition!!! came from a radio station collection. this station only played jazz for a short time before they switched to a different format so record remained untouched after this period. the cover condition is a different story. over 45 years of movement and pushing around station shelves, cover became on the average side for its time if you had to grade it--a couple of seams splits, some cover rubbing--marker code # in upper left corner of the cover, etc---average from the time period at best, as stated. the RECORD, however, is CHOICE!! label super clean and it is the original U.S. white and red promo 1959 release in case you didn't know it, the cover you usually see for this album is the one with miles playing his trumpet. THIS IS THE VERY FIRST ISSUE!! some bright bulb in columbia's corporate offices at the time thought that the figure behind the woman in the photo might be miles (whether it is or isn't is still under debate) and that wouldn't do in the 50's--a white woman with a black male on a boat out at sea??? with her child in tow, no less??? tsk, tsk.--STOP THE PRESSES AND REPLACE THAT COVER!!!!.....and it was done. ---see scans!!!
