Description

"Let George Do It" - 1958 Promo only 45- label appears to be hand-stamped in red ink, with the title, "Let George Do It", and lists the vocalist as being Jackie Wilson. Musically, it's a nice mid/uptempo R&B side, with the unmistakeable voice of Jackie Wilson at the lead. This rare record was pressed to advertise the 1958 campaign on Esther Gordy's husband George Edwards, who was running for Michigan state representative. Words and music by Roquel "Billy" Davis and Berry Gordy Jr. Same song, and what appears to be the same take on both sides. Run-off groove reads H80W 8363 - 1 on both sides. Definitely one of the rarest Motown OR Jackie Wilson 45's ever. Would make a great additon to any collection. One side is in VG- condition, the other G. Both play well, with some surface noise, but no skips on Technics 1200. We will gladly combine shipping for multiple 45's won within 5 days of each other at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!!!!!
