Extremely RARE album from percussionist Rashied Ali!! Ali played on a variety of phenomenal albums as a side musician for ALICE COLTRANE and JOHN COLTRANE so it's a special treat to find this quintet in an exploratory form!! The music has elements of the spiritual side and the avant-garde...musicians include the dynamic JAMES BLOOD ULMER (guitar), BOB RALSTON (tenor), EARL CROSS (trumpet) and JOHN DANA (bass). There are only two extended songs, one comprising each side of the album; "Adrees" on side one and side two has a unique version of James Blood Ulmer's "Theme For Captain Black"...very cool and tough as nails to find...don't miss out on this one...GOOD LUCK...plenty of cool tunes coming, so keep an eye out.
