Description

THE NOTEMAKERS- DO I HAVE A CHANCE/ IT HURTS TO WONDER 7"45 on SOTOPLAY RECORDS (#007), 1958.
Impossibly rare and elusive original 45, and the 3rd release on Nathaniel McCoy's legendary Los Angeles Sotoplay record label. An ultra-rare holy grail 45 for collectors of Doo-Wop, 50s Vocal Groups, and West Coast R&B!
Very few pressed, and only a handful in existence today. George "Harmonica" Smith aka George Allen is featured on the A-side.
SIDE A: "DO I HAVE A CHANCE": 50s Great Vocal R&B with sax and harmonica.
CONDITION: EX (Glossy vinyl with just a few very light and minor surface/paper scuffs).
Side B: "IT HURTS TO WONDER": Fantastic West Coast Doo-Wop.
CONDITION: M- (Glossy vinyl with virtually no wear or marks).
Labels are super-clean with typical minor SOTOPLAY double-printing (I believe they are all this way; this one is very minor-see photos). Tiny adhesive remnant from price sticker on lower area of Side A label.
Plays through nicely and without incident, but could be improved further/perfected with a proper machine cleaning.
There is a very minor storage warp that does not affect play on either of my turntables/cartridges- also common for these early Sotoplay singles.
