The Manhattans “Kiss And Say Goodbye”/“I Kinda Miss You” - Columbia AS 263 white label demonstration copy
R&B/Soul 1976 “X-Rated Version- Not Recommended For AirPlay”
When “Kiss And Say Goodbye” hit #1 on the charts in 1976, the Manhattans recorded a “blue” version and sent it to radio disc jockeys and program directors as a thank you. Both sides have a spoken introduction with adult content/profanity which could not have been played over the air.
This vinyl on this copy is in solid VG+ condition (very good plus) with plenty of shine. It has been cleaned with an ultrasonic record cleaner as well. There is a slight storage warp which does not affect play. Both labels are clear and without ink, stickers or tears.
Sleeve: generic.
Provenance: This copy was originally received by Massachusetts/Rhode Island disc jockey and program director Ken Raposa . After his death in an accident in 1987, it was inherited by another Massachusetts collector and DJ who passed in 2024.
