Description
FERDE GROFE -
Grand Canyon Suite
Arthur Fiedler/Boston Pops Orchestra
RCA ECS-17
2-Track Stereo for "In-Line" heads
7 1/2 ips; 7-inch reel; includes notes insert
This copy is of the early issue with printed leader & notes insert, in thick box with no cover picture - see photos.
Please note: for proper balances on playback, all 2-track tapes must be played on a 2-track machine. Playback on a 4-track machine will not give even weight to the channels and may not be satisfactory.
The first reference I have found to this 2-track tape comes in the July 1957 RCA Tape Catalog. I am amazed that this was the only stereo issue of this famous recording for a dozen years! The Red Seal LP issue was in mono only (on LM-1928 in 1955); but there was no stereo LP issue until the budget-line Victrola issue on VICS-1423 around 1969!
The tape is in excellent condition; the box shows only very minor shelf wear with a small piece of tape and a little writing on the spine - see photo.
