Description
RCA LSC 2147, SCHUBERT, “Trout Quintet”, The Festival Quartet (1962) 1s/1s, A1/A1 (I) Indianapolis pressing. This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old 1s/1s shaded dog pressing. The sound is realistic and lifelike with a VERY wide stage. This is my own personal copy, and the vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy, and exceptionally quiet with NO pops, clicks or skips. There is one noticeable tic on side 2, and a harmless, very light paper scuff on side 1 that makes no sound. The vinyl looks and plays near mint (NM). The labels are clean with NO spindle wear (see photos), and the inner sleeve is EX. The front of the jacket is clean, but has a bit of yellowing and ring wear. The back is clean, except that the original owner has stamped his name and address twice near the top. There is also the beginning of a split on the top left seam (see pictures). I would therefore grade the jacket as VG+. In summary, this is a very nice copy of this wonderful golden-age recording. The vinyl looks and plays NM, but the jacket shows some wear and has two stamps on the top back side. Feel free to return for full refund if not completely satisfied.
