Description

RCA LSC 2449 - Gounod, Bizet - Faust, Carmen Suite - Gibson, ROHOCG

Condition vinyl:
VG (visually), but NM-/VG+ (playgraded)
As this is a very rare and sought after record, I have listened to the entire LP and will detail my findings below:
Visually, the vinyl has a mark at the end of side one, that was completely inaudible on my system. Side two has five larger marks that are thin but very noticable to the eye - again, they did not sound.
Playgraded, side one, the Gounod, has just two spots with a few ticks (one spot with about 6 soft ticks and another one with 5 darker sounding but also soft tocks). Side two, which looks worse than side one visually, plays at least as good. I could only hear a couple of ticks (about 6) in the Habanera and a very few isolated ones spread over the side. There is some very light background noise in some of the softer passages, which is about what you would expect from most shaded dogs, regardless of their condition. The sound on the entire LP is clean and undistorted.
So, to sum it up, this is a copy that certainly looks less than perfect, but plays very well indeed! I have (and have had) many other shaded dogs that look much better than this one, but play MUCH worse!
Condition cover:
VG-
The cover has a taped top seam, a small 1 cm split at the bottom right and a bit of the paper on the spine has come unglued (the paper is not missing and this small fault could probably be well repaired). There's also some age discolouration and a bit of general wear, but the cover is complete and has no writing or stickers on it.
Pressing:
US pressing - shaded dog label (UR2) - 1S-A1/1S-A3 Indianapolis What else:
No need to say much about this LP, it's one of the legends in the Living Stereo Catalogue and everyone knows this. This is of course an original first pressing, and not the Classic reissue. Scarce as hell and in great demand!
NM (near mint) is my highest grade for a non-sealed record - mint is reserved for sealed copies.

I will give a full refund if not satisfied, excluding the postage costs for returning the item. Good luck bidding and please have a look at my other auctions too... All records will be cleaned on a VPI HW-17 record cleaning machine prior to dispatch
