Description
In the height of cold war, only a handful of Soviet musicians are allowed to travel to US. All of them represent the cream of the crop to showcase the superiority of the Soviet artistry. Kondrashin is certainly such conductor from Russia. He must have received royal treatment by RCA team as his recordings on this trip rank on the very top of their Living Stereo era. The xylophone in the Kabalevsky piece jumps to meet you right from the getgo for this sonic treat. Still very decent sound from this later incarnation.
