Description

RCA VICTOR LIVING STEREO SHADED DOG LP LSC 2400 Paris Cons / Fistoulari / Ballet

This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1960  RCA VICTOR U.S. VERY FIRST PRESS STEREO LP WITH 'SHADED DOG' LABELS containing performances of five various works of ballet music from opera as performed by the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra, Anatole Fistoulari conducting.  It is RCA Victor Records 'Living Stereo' catalog number LSC-2400, maroon 'shaded dog' labels, rigid thick vinyl deep groove pressing, 1S/1S stampers and Very Rare RCA booklet made especially for this particular pressing....see details below.

Condition of record is a SOLID VG++ / VG+ .  Both sides are very clean with high gloss but there are  a couple of  light hairlines ( that are not detectable by finger touch) and were carefully sound tested and do not affect play.  if it were not for these hairlines I would have rated the vinyl NM-.

Condition of cover is NM-  (the front cover is frameable!) with no ringwear , no writing, hardly any edgewear, one 3 1/2" bottom seam split (neatly clear taped).  The original RCA Victor Records inner sleeve is also present and has an impossibly rare "Ballet Music from the Opera" 2 page booklet attached to the RCA inner sleeve.  I have never seen this anywhere ever before!  This booklet was  attached by the original owner for safekeeping and it shows some wear and discoloration on the inside. (see pics).  The inner sleeve also has 2 clear taped seam splits (each about 3-4" long) (See all pics). Labels are NM beautiful.  (see pics)

Most importantly, this amazing Living Stereo very first pressing sounds awesome. TAS recognized as one of the finest Classical Living Stereo Lps ever produced.   It plays clean with miraculous clarity, color, and spirit. Powerful dynamic bass. No surface noise.   Bid with confidence.
