RCA Victor Early '30's Promo LP Radio Record Review

Search

This is a 12" 33rpm single-sided acetate disc of the "RCA Victor Radio Record Review" which apparently was a weekly radio show profiling the latest Victor recording artists. This record features Paul Whiteman, Ted Weems, Arden-Ohman Orchestra, Richard Crooks, RCA Victor Super Heterodyne Radio, Wayne King, Paul Whiteman (again) performing "When It's Sleepytime Down South" and ending with Russ Columbo. An MC announces each artist.  Probably c. 1932.

Payment must be received within five business days of auction's end or a non-paying bidder complaint will be filed and the bidder will be put on our "blocked" list. We will gladly combine shipping on two consecutive auctions, but winners must pay at the end of each auction.

As always, your records will be shipped in a sturdy box with filler. Looking for pre-War jazz, classical, and historic 78's? See "George's Gramophones" on the web.

On Feb-01-10 at 10:38:23 PST, seller added the following information:

Note: This was mistakenly described as an "acetate", but it's actually pressed on "Victrolac", a flexible precursor to vinyl developed by Victor in the early 1930s.

Also, this disc is in E- condition with a greyish "rough start" that's a little noisy (but not overwhelmingly so) for the first few grooves but quickly clears up to play at grade or better. The fidelity is slightly muffled in my opinion, but that's typical of some Victrolac pressings. A very rare item!
