Description
This was manufactured to order in "distressed oak" by Sesame cabinets. They were originally designed for the storage of 78 rpm 12" & 10" records. Obviously suitable for LPs too. Upwards of 200 78's/LPs can be stored. Not sure of manufacture date but think it to be late 30s. Carved to a Queen Anne style The doors hinge enabling the records to be stored vertically, but viewed at waist height horizintally on. Been in the family since new. Over the years the doors have swolen/shrunk slightly and the inner panels split. Also the locking mechanism whilst still working does not always "latch" due to door shrinkage. The interior was originally lined with green baize felt, but this has largely eroded away. Apart from the splits, and a certain amount of repolishing needed (top mostly) in VG condition. A most suitable restoration project. Dimensions 22½" W x 37" W x 42" H It is a very heavy item -I would estimate well over one hundred weight and would require two fit persons to carry. Collection from SG17 (Shefford Beds) at a time to suit. Due to the dimensions a large 4 x 4 or medium van would be required. Prior viewing welcomed
