RED KRAYOLA, GOD BLESS THE RED KRAYOLA AND ALL WHO SAIL WITH IT (International Artists, 1968)
Second album from Texas legend MAYO THOMPSON and Co. offering further proof that nearly every major style within rock was already well in place by 1968, including D.I.Y. punk. The star track here, ’Dairymaid’s Lament,’ sounds so much like the late 70s U.K. post-punk scene that you would be forgiven if you thought you were listening to the HOMOSEXUALS or SWELL MAPS (coincidentally some members of which MAYO THOMPSON would later play with in the reformed RED KRAYOLA of the early 80s). CONDITION: VG+ (would be NM if not for corner cut. Top and bottom wear. Beginning of seam split) / EX (B-side appears unplayed, while A-side has a few small, slight paper scuffs and scratches, none affecting play and audible only during quieter moments)
