Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. This is the real original first issue and was issued for only ONE month with the red Parlophone label before being switched over to the black & silver label. There were very few copies pressed with this red label compared to the black & silver 2nd-pressing label.
The album was issued in Italy in the summer of 1965 to capitalize on the band's appearance in Italy during their 1965 European tour, and the release of the film, Help! Instead of consisting of songs that they sang in Italy, the album consists entirely of single and EP tracks that had not been collected into an LP. All original copies of the LP were in mono.
The Beatles in Italy was reasonably popular for Parlophone, first appearing on the red label and later on the black label. EMI's Israeli affiliate was impressed enough with the compilation that they released it there, although without the gatefold cover that it sported in Italy and the Israeli issue used the back Italian cover as the front cover. Still, most worldwide Beatle fans were unaware of the release.
HOWEVER...in so much as the record probably would have remained obscure had not John Lennon, in a 1970 Rolling Stone interview, speculated that there might have been a live album released in Italy. "There's one in Italy apparently, that somebody recorded there." As The Beatles had not issued a live album during their career, the Lennon interview set off a frenzy among Beatles collectors seeking to add the alleged "live" album to their collection.
The LP quickly achieved legendary status from fans who did not realize that EMI affiliate Parlophone had released this album. The Israeli album with its alternate "champagne-glass FRONT cover" was so in demand that counterfeit copies became common. As the years passed, imported copies of the album continued to attract the interest of Beatles collectors, who saw it both as a curiosity and as an item needed to complete their collections. It was eventually issued in Japan (Odeon EAS-81525) and the Netherlands (Parlophone 1A 062-04632), when (in the mid-1980s) the album was issued in stereo. The album has not been released on CD.
This 1965 TRUE FIRST PRINTING released with the red Parlophone label when suddenly Parlophone changed the label to black and silver after only ONE month - hence the rarity of this red label issue.
Only TWO original (red label Parlophone) first pressings are currently available through "Discogs" for sale at $971.00 and $1236.00 respectively. The lowest the red label first press ever sold for on the sight was a "VG" copy for $674.05
- "She's a Woman - 2:58 "Matchbox" - 1:59 "From Me to You" - 1:56 "I Want to Hold Your Hand" - 2:24 "Ticket to Ride" - 3:11 Side two
CONDITION: The cover: rated: strong VG++ highly collection worthy copy, fragile/delicate laminated gatefold has only slight detectable previous handling, mild scuffing top lamination from being around for 50+ years but in no way detracts from the overall appearance. Manufactured with the old "flap-back" seams (inside gatefold) ... Altogether contains a strong extremely rare collectible ...there are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... VERY collection worthy rarity ...
The vinyl: Rated: strong VG++, both sides have original shine with no more than micro scuffs, very tiny, nothing significant, really hard to find this clean, believe it. 50+ years of age remaining a TOP sought Beatles artifact that was released only in Italy in 1965, completely a unique collectible. Both red Parlophone labels are clean despite some spindle marks.
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
