Description

RED WAVE - 4 UNDERGROUND BANDS from the USSR (1986) 2 LPs - Rare!

These bands were active underground prior to the dissolution of the Soviet Union.  It's been said it was the first release of Russian rock music in the U.S.  From the back cover:

"They are all underground musicians who are not recognized by the governement and cannot receive any money for their performances and/or recordings.  Their unofficial status allows them to be completely free to create their own music, which cannot be sold in stores, but gets circulated hand to hand across the Soviet Union.  They have become more popular than many of the official Soviet "rock" bands. [This album brings] their music to the West in hope of creating a better understanding between people."
