Description

ELVIS PRESLEY - SUN 209 - "THAT'S ALL RIGHT" / "BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY" 45 RPM
SUN No. 209..  This record is a well known, very hard to find item.  Goldmine price guide show it valued at $10,000 NM, $4,000 VG+, $2000 VG.  It's all about condition.
Visually, there are some light superficial scratches on both sides.  I would say the tracks LOOK VG.  Labels are in extremely good condition with no wear issues, only slight soiling at high points.  Push marks are evident and show no wear at all.  Pics show condition clearly.  I would say labels are a strong VG+.
"That's All Right" has a 3 second leadin with Zero noise, you barely hear the notorious 'Sun Hum' or hiss, present on every Sun record of the era, but that's all.  And even that is not loud.  The music starts and the music dominates throughout with no noise, no pops or tics. The tailoff is also quiet. U-128-45 shows in the dead wax.
"Blue Moon"   has a few more scratches then 'That's All Right'.  One of those scratches caused tics.  Toward the end of 'Blue Moon',  6 light tics occur, probably one per revolution.  Then it clears up,  The music dominates, once again.  Little to no noise throughout.  Just those tics.    U-129-45 is in the dead wax on this side.
I bought this record in the record store in 1954.  It had no factory sleeve as we know today, just a brown sleeve, which is long gone.  It was played frequently for a period of time, on a cheap 45 changer, hence the scratches, then put away.  Only played it again when I play-tested it twice to list it on Ebay, hence the good condition.
Overall, though the tracks have scratches, they play much better then that.  I feel that the record is a VG+, due to the lack of noise usually present on a record of this age, great overall sound, and very clean labels.  I will start the auction halfway between the VG and VG+ price.
I ship free to the 50 states only.  I will ship internationally using GSP, where you pay the cost of the overseas part.  Since I am in central Texas, equidistant from the east coast to the west coast to the Canadian border, shipping time to the lower 48 should take no more than 3 days.  to Alaska and Hawaii, a little longer.
Paypal only.  Check my other listings. Good luck and thanks for looking.
