Review: Reflections by Jim Walker was released Jul 16, 1999 on the Reference Recordings label. Pianist Mike Garson and flutist Jim Walker, both with jazz and classical backgrounds and experience, came together on this 1984 project to present songs that reflected both their backgrounds. Reflections The results were often musically impressive but emotionally detached, as if each was so anxious to showcase his talents he forgot about putting more of himself behind the playing. Reflections As with all Reference releases, it's superbly engineered and sounds wonderful.
