The Skatalites

Profile:- Tommy McCook, Rolando Alphonso, Johnny Moore, Lester Sterling, Don Drummond, Lloyd Knibb, Lloyd Brevett, Jerry Haynes, and Jackie Mittoo began working together in 1963 and formed The Ska-talites in May 1964. McCook, Drummond, Moore and Sterling were all students at the famed Alpha Boys School in Kingston.
In August 1965 The Skatalites played their last show after Don Drummond's cofinement to Bellvue for the death of his girlfriend, Margarita. The break-up results in the formation of two studio bands, Rolando Alphonso & The Studio One Orchestra and Tommy McCook & the Supersonics.
The band reformed in 1983 and is still active nowadays, despite the death of many original members.
Carlos Malcolm OD:- (born c. 1934) is a Jamaican trombonist, percussionist and bandleader who was most popular in the late 1950s and 1960s.

Grading

  • Mint - I will not grade Mint unless I am absolutely sure I have not played the record more than once. Vinyl & Labels have NO blemishes

  • Mint Minus [N.M.] - Label and Vinyl looks perfect and plays perfect

  • Excellent - Vinyl has virtually no blemishes, may have minor fine superficial marks Plays Perfect.

  • VG plus - Has the odd superficial mark but plays without any surface noise or skips or crackles. Very close to Excellent. May have sticker

  • VG - Same as above but may have more marks. But still plays without skips or surface noise.

  • GOOD  more noticeable marks than a VG+ but has no skips or jumps. May have SLIGHT surface noise
