RELAXING WITH THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET featuring Miles Davis - trumpet, John Coltrane - tenor sax, Red Garland - piano, Paul Chambers - bass, Philly Joe Jones - drums
#PRLP7129 A RARE second press MONO album / LP 12" record was produced by Prestige Records in 1960-1961 on the yellow Prestige label stamped in Bergenfield, New Jersey and with the RVG (Rudy Van Gelder) production mark engraved into the vinyl. The Prestige logo lacks the copyright symbol that was added in early 1962, but uses the transitional name Prestige Records, Inc.
This is a Deep Groove pressing and has an inner plastic sleeve and an extra plastic outer sleeve for additional protection. Please view the pictures for full details.
This original 1960-61 album is in NEAR MINT CONDITION. The outer cardboard sleeve is very good plus with only slight shelf wear, a nice gloss & color and shows NO ring-wear. The album itself has almost no perceivable wear. This is in AMAZING shape for such an old vinyl album...
A NOTE ABOUT VINTAGE RECORDS:
All 10" LP's are mono recorded and play with surface sounds. Even if they look perfect, it's highly likely they will have some background sound. 10" LP's were only produced from 1949 - 1955 in small quantities and without inner sleeves. Back then only very few people had high quality turntables, but everyone had "record players" that were not kind to record grooves. Today we have high quality turntables that will amplify all of the imperfections left by the old inferior equipment. This can also pertain to 12" records produced in the 1950s &1960s. So please, if this is something that bothers you, please consider buying a re-issue of this album or one on CD. We have play tested all the albums we are selling & tried to grade them honestly & accordingly using GOLDMINE STANDARD.
