Description

R.E.M. 45 RPM Vinyl Record (7 inch) Set

These R.E.M. 45s from my personal collection are looking for a good home where they can be played or displayed.

Check out my other auctions for a rare R.E.M. UK release of S. Central Rain (I'm Sorry) on I.R.S. Really nice sleeve.

  1. "Radio Free Europe" b/w "Sitting Still"
  2. "It's the End of the World as We Know It (I Feel Fine)" b/w "Last Date"

Payment and shipping options are listed below the record details.

R.E.M.

"Radio Free Europe" b/w "Sitting Still"

Released 1981

7 inch 45 RPM on Hib-Tone Records

USA Release

This is a first pressing of Radio Free Europe on Hibtone.

Condition: It might be scratchy. I have two copies: my original and my husband's. I'm not sure which is which but I'm only selling one. If this one was mine, it did get played because I was a radio DJ in the town where this 45 was recorded (Winston-Salem, NC) at the time it was released. But since it has been more than two decades since it's been on a turntable, I can't remember how it sounds.

R.E.M.

"It's the End of the World as We Know it (And I Feel Fine)" b/w "Last Date"

Released 1987

7 inch 45 RPM on I.R.S. Records

USA Release

A-Side from Document. B-Side is an "unproduced" song recorded on September 4, 1987 at John Keane Studios.

Condition: Rarely played, if ever. Cover has minor wear. I'm not quite sure why I have it because at the time Document came out, I was into other bands.

On Jul-14-05 at 13:17:32 PDT, seller added the following information:

NOTE: The 45 pictured is a second pressing, not a first pressing. I will check out my other copy and let you know what I find out. Thanks.

On Jul-15-05 at 06:56:07 PDT, seller added the following information:

UPDATE 7/15/05 - "Radio Free Europe/Sitting Still" is a second pressing, not a first pressing as originally listed.

On Jul-15-05 at 17:21:17 PDT, seller added the following information:

Update 7/15/05 - Newly added R.E.M. 45s.

Since I don't have the first pressing of "Radio Free Europe" as I originally thought, I am re-adding these two 45s back to the "Radio Free Europe/Sitting Still" package.

R.E.M.

"S. Central Rain (I'm Sorry)" b/w "King of the Road"

Released 1984

7 inch 45 RPM on I.R.S. Records

Very Rare UK Release

A-Side from Reckoning. B-Side is a cover of the Roger Miller song.

Condition: Since I probably got this single before Reckoning came out, this likely got played a few times on the radio. After I.R.S. sent me a big box full of copies of Reckoning I didn't have the need to play the single anymore. It's worth it just for the cover, although the side with Michael Stipe is a little worn.

R.E.M.

"The One I Love" b/w "Maps and Legends (Live)"

Released 1987

7 inch 45 RPM on I.R.S. Records

USA Release

A-Side from Document. B-Side recorded on cassette May 24, 1987.

Condition: Rarely played, if ever. Cover has minor wear.
