RECORD GRADING - NM BOX GRADING - VG+
The records are in near mint condition. Awesome recording, very high quality for a private press.  The box is intact but has some writing on the front. 
Unbelievably good and unknown private jazz pressing from the acclaimed program they put on at the University of Nevada Reno.  Features an awesome Art Pepper solo on the first record. Also playing along is Arne Kjell-Eriksson and singing is Ann-Kristin Hedmark. Arne's Sandvik Big Band has a cool funky bite to it on this record!  Don't miss the Midnight Cowboy Medley, the title is misleading, there a couple of nicely done drum breaks and solos there.  A great version of Hank Levy's Chaipas is here as well.  Another fantastic tune with a great drum break/solo is Bone Breaker on Side Four. A couple of cool Beatles covers as well...don't be fooled, the Norwegian Wood (who would have thought) has the most extensive drum break/solo on the whole album!! Must be four or five minutes long.  After Norwegian Wood on the third record is an "untitled" song that features electronic music mixed with a mellow flute sound. 
I think the highlight of this box set is If Your Shoes Don't Move by The Seal Beach Elementary School Stage Band directed by Charles Wackerman. Amazing fuzz bass and fuzz guitar solos. I can't believe they are elementary school kids, the skill is amazing.   
I could go on and on, but just know that this box set is flooded with originality and skill. 
It states Side One, Two, Three and Four on the first two records, then goes back to Side One and Two on the last one. Bonus material?? 

When I grade a record, I attempt to listen to each one.  Sometimes, I will not listen to an entire LP, but will hear key tracks or areas that may show wear to render an objective opinion. Each listing is completely written by myself.  I will also use outside sources that I have researched as well, to give a more complete picture of the record I am selling.

VJ'S VINYL GRADING SYSTEM:

If graded Mint - never used, once a record is opened, the top you can get is mint minus.
If graded Mint Minus or Near Mint (NM) - A great record, one or two fine hairline scuffs, sounds flawless. A mint minus record can "play" mint. Covers are new looking, may have shrink wrap.
If graded Excellent (EX) - Can have faint hairline scuffs that do not affect play. Can have very minor infrequent crackling. Minor bumps in the cover.
If graded Very Good plus (VG+) - Scuffs can be more prevalent, with a little more surface noise. If it visually has more scuffs but plays great, I will note that. Still, a very fine and playable copy. Covers have minor age and shelf wear.
If graded Very Good (VG) - Can have lots of hairline scuffs, and maybe one or two scratches. Surface noise is more prevalent with some popping in spots. Covers have more extensive age and shelf wear. Minor splits.
If graded Very Good minus (VG minus) - More in the way of scratches and surface noise is NOT infrequent. Still, a viable copy. Covers may have splits.
If graded Good plus (G+) - only reserved for a very rare or popular record. Very noisy, maybe some skips, scratches are evident. Covers are trashed.
If graded STILL SEALED - I will grade the vinyl as "still sealed." That means it's probably mint minus because I do not know if there were any factory defects.
If reported to have Hairline scuffs - light yet visible. Cannot be felt with the skin of your finger.
If stated to have Scratches - Can be felt.
If reported, Age wear - on a cover is either fading or yellowing.
If reported, Shelf wear - is ring wear, corner bumps, or fraying.
