Description
From CLASSIC WAX BY JUKEBOX JUNCTION, THE COMPLETE 5 RECORD SET.
THE JEWEL OF THIS SET IS DEFINITELY "UNDER THE BOARDWAY" BY THE DRIFTERS. IT IS ONLY FOUND IN THIS SET OF REPRODUCTION RECORDS. Not available in original acetate record pressings which were long gone by the time Under the Boardwalk charted #4 in 1964.
Under The Boardwalk and Up On The Roof have several light scratches which do not affect the play. Records sound good with no skips or clicks. Lots of shine and loud play.
The Joe Turner record has a couple of scuffs that do not affect the play. The other three records look scratch free with lots of shine.
Record #1 "Save the Last Dance for Me" & "White Christmas" is a great record that is also found in the Altantic Reproduction set and Up On the Roof is found in the Prime Records Volume 1. You get all these songs in the Classic Wax set.
Record #2: Under the Boardwalk #4 1964 & Up On the Roof #5 in 1962 Billboard Top 40 - Drifters
Record #3: The Clovers charted #2 on the R&B charts in 1953 with Good Lovin' and #6 in 1954 with Your Cash Ain't Nothing But Trash
Record #4: Chuck Willis "C.C. Rider charted #1 on the Billboard R&B charts in 1957 and #12 on the Billboard Top 40. The B-side charted #3 on the R&B charts in 1955.
Record #5 Joe Turner Corinne Corinna charted #2 in the R&B charts in 1956 and #41 on The Billboard Top 40. Morning Noon and Night charted #8 on the R&B charts in 1955.
