JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH Missa (Mass in B- minor ) 3 LP Linen Box Set
STEREO ED1 Deutschen grammophon ARCHIV 198 190/922 SAPM German pressing from 1963I have acquired a large classical collection of wonderful recordings from a very keen and dedicated collector.
They are all mostly from the late 50s to mid 60s - Something of a Golden Age in Classical recordingAll records are inspected very carefully and
Gradings are based on Record Collector magazine.
I try to only offer recordings in a minimum of excellent Condition unless it is something particularly rare when I will do my best to describe any visual or audible flaws

CONDITION - Discs are visually and audibly as follows

Visually and audibly Excellent 3 faint pops for 1 revolution towards the end of the band

Visually and audibly Excellent 1 faint pops for 1 revolution midway

Visually and audibly Excellent 1 faint pops for 1 revolution on seperate occasions

The linen Box and booklet are both in EXCELLENT condition complete with original DG inner sleeves and card recording insert
The only other issue is that the previous owner has written a small S number on the front top left corner
of each inner sleeve in red pen as in photo 2 ( It was his own catalogue system)
This is of course, close to 50 years old now and is surprisingly good shape for its vintage .
The Mass in B minor is a glorious setting of the complete latin Mass . Bach assembled the Mass in its present form in 1749,
just before his death in 1750. The Sanctus of the Mass in B minor dates back to 1724. The Kyrie and Gloria date from 1733
and to complete the work Bach composed new sections of the Credo . A beautiful STEREO recording from 1961
and housed in a deluxe box.
